Consider the service we get from typical fast food chains where employees tend being paid at a simple hourly rate. Then think about even the servers at Sonic who earn their money based on tips which can be linked to performance. When was the last time you got an attitude at Sonic as though the server didn't care whether you came or went. What effect would removing commisions have on the new car sales market? Both those venues are retail I understand. But the principle remains. Wouldn't the typical clerk or public works employee perform better if their pay was linked to their individual performance?
