Imagine a visit to Tom Pendergast's office next to the Hotel Monroe on Main. After an anxiety-inducing wait, you go in to see the big guy and he hands you a slip of paper with your "assignment" on it. Your mission takes you to one of a number of jazz-age destinations: 18th & Vine, Municipal Auditorium, Brush Creek, City Hall, etc., where you are met by characters in vintage costume who take you through the building and explain its connection to jazz, organized crime, or Harry Truman. It's living history in real time in real places. It can be as educational or as entertaining as you want.
